TasteFest 2023 was a spectacular event, one of the best days/nights Taree Riverbank has seen! With a delicious array of food, desserts, beer and much more to excite your tastebuds; loads of entertainment for families and the famous duck races. The atmosphere was high and it was great to see everyone come together as a community to enjoy the sweeter things in life. It truly was an event for all ages! It’s hard to pin point the best part of the event, but most of the hype has been about the “Back to the 80’s” band that lit up the Riverbank with their killer tracks. OSCARS BUZZ 2023

Posted on 10th March, 2023

The Oscars are just around the corner, and the buzz surrounding this year’s event is huge.. Two questions, in particular, have been making rounds in Hollywood: will anyone get slapped, and can a wacky sci-fi featuring hot dog fingers and butt plugs really win best picture? While the former is unlikely, the latter seems to have everyone talking. “Everything Everywhere All at Once,” a film that defies all conventions of traditional Oscar-winning films, has dominated the awards season, winning top honors from Hollywood’s directors, producers, actors, and writers’ guilds. The movie follows the story of Evelyn, a Chinese immigrant laundromat owner, who finds herself locked in a battle with an inter-dimensional supervillain who also happens to be her own daughter. Despite the film’s bizarre plot, its charismatic predominantly Asian cast, supported by the ever-popular Jamie Lee Curtis, has made it the feel-good story of the season. “Everything Everywhere All at Once” has grossed $100 million and become a word-of-mouth audience hit, making it a strong contender for multiple Oscars. If it does win, it will be a game-changer for the Academy, which has traditionally favored more serious, dramatic movies.   The Oscars are always an exciting event, but this year’s ceremony is shaping up to be one for the history...

This time around, the show is going to switch things up in a major way, with one farmer actually looking for a husband. Of the six new contestants sharing their quest for love in the country, local dairy farmer Ben Scowen will throw his Akubra in the ring. The 27-year-old from Wingham was left heartbroken when his last relationship ended and, not wanting to get hurt again, steered clear of the dating scene for a long time. “But there’s a time where you’ve got to let down your walls again and open your heart back up to love,” he says.
