$6.3M Facelift For Forster Main Beach And Surf Club

Posted on 11th October, 2021

What an announcement!

Forster’s historic Main Beach foreshore is set for a $6.3 million facelift after the Federal Government announced $3.159 million to help upgrade the 50-year-old Forster Surf Life Saving Clubhouse.

Federal Member for Lyne Dr David Gillespie appeared on the Brekky Show with Jayce to break the news last week and said the new clubhouse would be the cornerstone of the Forster Main Beach foreshore redevelopment.

“As we all know, Forster Main Beach is an absolute jewel, but it’s in need of a polish.”- That’s a fancy way of saying it’s time for a facelift.

The existing Surf Club building will be demolished to make way for a new one, with parking and surrounding infrastructure considered as part of the project.

Dr Gillespie assures locals that he has consulted with the community and members of the Surf Club to find the opportune way to invest in the local economy, and to provide locals and visitors with the best facilities possible.

The redevelopments in Forster are one of almost 300 projects across regional Australia, and will create almost 1000 jobs to build the facilities.
